Mission
To offer the highest quality immunohistochemical
service to our pathologists, clinicians, and researchers at
UAB.
Personnel
The Immunohistochemistry Laboratory is staffed
by three full time technicians. It is overseen by a board certified
pathologist and draws upon the expertise of many of the faculty
of the UAB Department of Pathology in the implementation and
ongoing quality control of stains that the laboratory offers.
Facility
The laboratory is located in the North Pavilion, 3rd Floor,
room 3520. Currently, the laboratory has an inventory of over
200 primary antibodies for clinical and research use. A comprehensive
list of antibodies and protocols is available upon request.
Three automated stainers are available. Over 33,000 tests were
performed last year.
